Kaia Voitka

Principal 2nd Violin

Kaia Voitka started her violin studies at the age of six in Estonia. She has studied at the Academy of Music in Tallinn under Kaido Välja. Kaia graduated from the Sibelius Academy with a master’s degree in December 2019 with Mari Tampere-Bezrodny as her supervisor.

During her studies, Kaia participated in a joint training programme of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. She has attended master classes by several renowned violinists (including Mikhail Kopelmann, Pavel Berman, Petru Munteanu and Florian Donderer).

In her career, Kaia has also won many national and international violin competitions. As a chamber musician, Kaia has performed as a soloist with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, the Estonian Sinfonietta and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. As an orchestral musician, she has played in the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) from 2013 to 2016. Since the autumn of 2019, Kaia has served as principal 2nd violin of the Lapland Chamber Orchestra.
